A Heartfelt Farewell
To our beautiful community,
After much reflection and many honest conversations, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to close the Waikato Women’s Advancement Charitable Trust.
For more than 10 years, WWAC has had the privilege of walking alongside women in our community — supporting, encouraging, uplifting and empowering wherever we could. Although we took a short pause to regroup, we returned last year with renewed focus and stamina, hopeful that we could continue the work we love.
However, the rising costs of operating and the challenges in securing sustainable funding have made it clear that we are no longer able to deliver the level of support our community deserves.
This decision has not been made lightly. It comes with sadness, but also with deep gratitude.
We want to sincerely thank every woman, family member, volunteer, supporter and friend who trusted us during times of need. It has been an honour to serve you. The courage, resilience and strength we have witnessed over the years will stay with us always.
While we will no longer be providing direct services, we will remain available until 31 March 2026 to help guide women toward other avenues of support and assistance.
Join Us for One Last Morning Tea
Before we close this chapter, we would love to gather together one final time as a community.
Please join us for a bring-a-plate morning tea:
20 March 2026
10:00am
This will be a time to reconnect, reflect, celebrate the journey, and share gratitude for all that has been built together.
If you would like to attend, please confirm your attendance via our Contact Us page on the website.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey.
With love and appreciation,
The WWACT Team
