Coming Soon: August is All About Food, Culture, and the Incredible Women Who Keep It Alive

As we wrap up the energy and movement of Women’s Sports Month, we’re already looking forward to what’s next — and it’s something truly special.

This August, WWACT is celebrating the richness of women’s cultures, stories, and strength through something that unites us all: food.

We’re calling it “Celebrating Food, Culture, and Women” — a month-long tribute to the recipes that raised us, the flavours that connect us to our roots, and the women who pass these traditions on through kitchens, whānau, and communities.

Throughout the month, we’ll be offering a beautiful mix of events where you can:

  • Try new foods and cooking styles

  • Share your own recipes or food memories

  • Learn about how traditional kai supports wellbeing

  • Come together with other wāhine through culture, conversation, and of course — amazing meals

Whether you’re a confident cook or just love good kai and good company, there will be something here for you. We’ll be building up to a Cultural Food Festival at the end of the month — a whānau-friendly celebration with food stalls, storytelling, music, and connection.

So take a breath, rest your muscles after Sports Month, and get ready for a new kind of nourishment — the kind that feeds your body, your spirit, and your sense of belonging.

💛 Keep an eye on our Events page for August sign-ups. We can’t wait to celebrate with you.
